Butternut Garden, LLC.
On her Butternut Gardens flower farm in suburban Southport, CT, Evelyn Lee grows over 44,000 stems of blooms, greens and other botanical elements for local retail and wholesale outlets. She draws upon her former ecological and horticultural training at New York Botanical Garden and Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies to carefully match plants to site microclimates and manage cut flower rows and surrounding plantings for the benefit of native pollinators and neighborhood honeybees. Butternut Gardens is a registered Bee Friendly Farm and part of the Million Garden Pollinator Challenge.
Evelyn is passionate about teaching other suburbanites of the significant impacts their suburban landscape choices have on our natural environment, and offers workshops and speaking engagements to help others learn the ecological, human, and financial benefits of incorporating organic land care principals in their home landscaping and flower gardening.
