SUMMARY:Seed Mix Formulation for Native Meadows
DESCRIPTION:While seed mix formulation can look simple\, long-term meadow success is rooted in a detailed understanding of individual species characteristics\, how to quantify those species\, how they fit together to form a community\, and their roles in the various stages of meadow development. He will also discuss how to overlay various mitigation requirements\, as well as the aesthetic preferences of the client. \nThrough his experience with Larry Weaner Landscape Associates (LWLA) and his encyclopedic knowledge of native plants\, Ethan is uniquely qualified to enhance your ability to design and oversee successful native meadows. \nThis NDAL course is available to AOLCPs at a 10% discount and can be used toward this year’s CEU requirement. AOLCPs may email us for the discount code. \nClick here to register for the course and then click the “Have a coupon?” link (beneath the price total) to apply the discount code.\n\nEthan Dropkin\, MLA is a landscape designer at Larry Weaner Landscape Associates (LWLA)\, has an extensive and in-depth understanding of native plants\, the patterns and processes they express in nature\, and their effective use in the designed landscape. He has been involved with numerous private gardens and public projects including Riverwalk Park in Tarrytown\, NY\, and a planting plan for Kingsland Wildflowers in Brooklyn\, NY. Prior to joining LWLA\, Ethan worked as a designer at Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates\, as a horticultural designer and technician for Cornell University\, and as a horticulturist for the New York City Parks Department. He has a Master’s in Landscape Architecture and a Master’s of Professional Studies in Horticulture\, both from Cornell University.
